The TSV Rodenkirchen (officially: Gymnastics and Sports Association 06 Rodenkirchen eV ) was a sports club from the Cologne district Rodenkirchen . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.
history
In 1906 the gymnastics club Einigkeit Rodenkirchen was founded as a spin-off from Rodenkirchener gymnastics club Gut-Heil . Ten years later, Borussia Rodenkirchen, a football club, was founded. In 1920 both clubs merged to form TSV 06 Rodenkirchen. In the mid-1970s, the soccer department of SV Nordstern Köln joined TSV Rodenkirchen.
After the end of the Second World War , TSV made it to the Rheinbezirksliga , the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine at the time, after two ascents in a row . Despite a 3: 3 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , the Rodenkirchen team immediately relegated and had to start in the district class in 1952. After the direct resurgence, the Rodenkircheners stayed in the district class for four years before relegation followed. From 1977 to 1982 TSV Rodenkirchen played again in the district league before saying goodbye at the district level. In 2010 TSV Rodenkirchen merged with VfL Sürth, which was founded in 1925, to form FC Rheinsüd Köln .
