In the 1995/96 season he was the top scorer in the Regionalliga Nordost with 22 goals . The energy fans sometimes used the nickname " Football God " for him , which was partly due to his two goals in the second relegation game by Energie Cottbus against Hannover 96 for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1997 and his 1-0 win against the 1. Further career

After his playing career, Irrgang worked as an employee in the marketing department of FC Energie, where he was responsible for merchandising, among other things.
