Hans-Joachim "Hajo" Prinz (born January 3, 1943 in Elster / Elbe ; † December 4, 2015 ) was a German soccer player in the GDR soccer game . In the local top division league he was for the SC activist Brieske-Senftenberg and the BSG Energie Cottbus active.

Career

In 1960, Prince von Lok Elster, the company sports association of the Deutsche Reichsbahn in his hometown, came to the football stronghold of the former GDR district of Cottbus , the SC activist Brieske-Senftenberg. There he first played in the junior team before he played his first game in the GDR league on October 29, 1961. In the encounter on the 23rd match day activist Brieske - Motor Zwickau (4: 1) he was used as a substitute. In the 1961/62 season, which ran over 39 rounds due to the switch from the calendar year to the summer-spring rhythm, Prinz was called up twice on the 25th and 27th matchday for 90 minutes each time. In the following season 1962/63, Prinz was a regular player from the start, he played in 20 of 26 played point games as a left defender.

At the end of the season, the SC activist was determined to be relegated from the league. For the new season 1963/64 the Briesker football section was affiliated with the newly founded SC Cottbus and played with Prinz in the second-rate GDR league . In 1966, the team around Prinz had to endure another outsourcing, this time the soccer section was assigned to the new company sports association Energie Cottbus. Like the sports club, the BSG continued to play in the GDR league until it was promoted to the league again in 1973. Prinz was involved in this success with 28 out of 30 point and promotion games, usually as a pre-stopper .

In his third league season 1973/74, now playing for BSG Energie Cottbus, Prince played 20 of 26 point games in which he was alternately used as a full-back on the right and left. The BSG Energie could only stay in the league for one season, so that Prinz had to play second class again in the 1974/75 season. In the immediate return to the league this time he was only involved with 19 appearances in the 30-game season. At the beginning of his fourth league season in 1975/76, Prince was already 32 years old, and in the season preview of the German Sportechos he was no longer mentioned as a regular player. In fact, Prinz was only used on the 3rd and 11th matchdays. The encounter of the 11th matchday Stahl Riesa - Energie (1-0) on November 12, 1975, in which Prinz only played one half, was his 45th league game, which ended his career as a footballer. Always called up as a defender, he didn't score any goals in the major league. For the Cottbus teams of the SC and the BSG, Prinz played a total of 304 point games in which he was able to score three goals.

After the end of his playing career, Prinz was initially the coach of the second team at BSG Energie, from 1987 he was team leader of the first for many years. For several years he was also active in the Brandenburg State Football Association .
