history
Asbacher Strasse was only built in 1860. Before that, Cäcilienstraße was the main route to the south.
The Kronenbrauerei, which was taken over by the Sieg-Rheinische Germania brewery in 1879, used to be located on the corner of Asbacher Straße and Schümmerichstraße.
During the Second World War , the development on Asbacher Strasse from Löhr’s Eck to behind Kurzgasse or Kirchgasse was almost completely destroyed by aerial bombs, only the parish church and the later demolished former parsonage remained with serious damage.
