Marc-Philipp Zimmermann (born March 22, 1990 in Spremberg ) is a German soccer player who plays for VfB Auerbach in the Regionalliga Nordost.

Career

Zimmermann began his career as a youth footballer in 1996 at Grün-Weiß Weißwasser . From 2003 to 2009 he played in the youth of Energie Cottbus . Already in the 2007/08 season he played in the regional league team on May 24, 2008 in the 2-1 defeat at Hamburger SV II . The following year he was already a regular there, although he was still an A-youth. In 2009/10 he was part of the extended squad of the professional team and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on March 6, 2010 in a 3-1 win against Alemannia Aachen . There he was substituted on a few minutes before the end. But neither this nor the next season he was able to establish himself in the first team and instead remained a regular player in the reserve.

After the end of the 2010/11 season, Zimmermann moved within the regional league to VFC Plauen . The attacker scored 21 goals in 55 regional league games for the Vogtländer in the following two years. In the summer of 2013, he was signed by FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In Jena, he was unable to earn a regular place and in summer 2014 moved on to the then regional league team FSV Zwickau . With FSV Zwickau Zimmermann was promoted to the 3rd division in summer 2016. In the winter break of 2016/17, however, he left the club and joined VfB Auerbach in the Regionalliga Nordost, where he signed a contract until June 30, 2019 signed, which he extended in March 2019 to 2021.
