Christian Knappmann (born March 19, 1981 in Düsseldorf ) is a German former soccer player and later soccer coach.
Career
Knappmann played in his youth for Fortuna Düsseldorf and Borussia Mönchengladbach, among others . After one season each at FC Remscheid and Ratingen 04/19 , he moved to Kickers Offenbach in 2002 . At the beginning of 2004 Knappmann switched to VfR Neumünster , but six months later he switched to TuS Koblenz . In 2005 he moved to KFC Uerdingen 05 in Krefeld . There he played from July 2005 to January 2007 and from August of the same year to January 2008. In between there was a six-month guest appearance at FC Gütersloh 2000 . After his time in Krefeld, Knappmann moved to SC Verl . He left this in 2010 and joined the third division club Rot Weiss Ahlen . Only half a year later he moved to league competitor Wacker Burghausen .
During the 2011 summer break, Knappmann moved to Wuppertaler SV Borussia , one of his former youth clubs. In what was an extremely successful season for him, in which Knappmann scored twice a hat trick and five times a brace and was top scorer of the Regionalliga West with a total of 30 goals this season , he landed fifth with the WSV. After he was able to convince in the first round in 2012/13, he moved to the second round for the second team of Borussia Dortmund in the 3. Liga . There he remained, however, in 16 second round games without scoring. For the 2013/14 season, Knappmann moved to Rot-Weiss Essen and signed a two-year contract. However, this was already dissolved again during the winter break in December 2013. The league club SV Rödinghausen signed the striker for the second half of the season. With 14 goals in 18 games, he helped the club to rise to the Regionalliga West. In the winter break of 2014/15 he dissolved his contract in Rödinghausen and joined the North German regional division TSV Havelse as a playing assistant coach . For health reasons, he left the club after three months in March 2015.
He switched to Westfalia Herne on July 1, 2015 . In November he also took over the coaching post there. His playing career is over.
