In January 2004 he moved to the second division club FC Erzgebirge Aue , but was seriously injured ( cruciate ligament tear ) in an indoor tournament . Ersin Demir was only used from the 2004/05 season. By the end of 2006 he had played 57 Bundesliga games (11 goals) for Aue.

On July 1, 2007, he moved to the regional league club FC Ingolstadt 04 , where he signed a three-year contract. In his first season Demir scored ten goals in 32 games and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Schanzers . After only a year, he was relegated to the third division. In the 2010/11 season he let his career in the second team of the FCI end. Since July 1, 2011 he has been working as a trainer at the Ingolstadt youth training center, where he has meanwhile been promoted to youth coordinator and trainer for the U-19s.
