In the west lies Selgersdorf, in the north the research center Jülich , in the east Hambach and in the south Krauthausen , both belonging to the community Niederzier . The Iktebach runs next to the village.

The place has no through traffic. The local road serves as an escape route for the nearby Jülich Research Center. The public transport , the Rurtalbus GmbH by bus number 223 in part as call bus and by a Anrufsammeltaxi safe. The Rurtalbahn train station in neighboring Selgersdorf can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes via Daubenrather Kirchweg and 10 minutes by bike.
Others
Daubenrath is located in a 1 km radius around the former Jülich experimental reactor. DIDO was completely shut down in 2006. Because of its proximity to the reactor, there was a fixed loudspeaker system in the place that was supposed to alert the population. The fire department technical center (FTZ) in Stockheim regularly played music in the village as a test.
The place also has a children's playground, a rifle club (St. Stephanus Schützenbruderschaft Daubenrath) and the Daubenrath Drummers and Piper Corps.
The small paths chapel of brick in the stave Rather Kaster Road was built in 1886 and is since 13 January 1987 under monument protection .
