Nico Karger (born February 1, 1993 in Kronach ) is a German soccer player . The offensive player is in the squad of SV Elversberg .

career

youth

Karger initially played for ten years in his birthplace at FC Kronach 08 , and from 2007 at SpVgg Bayreuth . In 2009 he moved from Franconia to Upper Bavaria to the youth training center of TSV 1860 Munich . After a season in the U-17 Bundesliga, he moved up to the U19 and was used six times in the U-19 Bundesliga in the 2010/11 season . On May 13, 2011, he came to his first assignment in the adult area, when he was substituted in the Regionalliga-Süd game of the second team of the sixties against KSV Hessen Kassel shortly before the end of the game. On the following day he came again to a brief assignment. In the following regional league season he ran once for the little lions , he was substituted on again in the home game against Kassel. In the A-Junioren-Bundesliga , he played 18 games and scored four goals, three of them at home against FSV Mainz 05 .

Beginnings in adult football

In the summer of 2012, Karger moved up firmly to the second team, which now competed as U21 in the new Regionalliga Bayern . On August 15, 2012, he scored his first goal in adult football at the game in Aschaffenburg . In the first season of the Regionalliga Bayern Karger played 26 games and scored three goals, most of which he was substituted on or off. After tearing a muscle bundle in his thigh at the game in Nuremberg at the end of October , he could not be used again until April. At the end of the season, TSV 1860's U21s took first place and played two games against SV Elversberg for promotion to the third division. Karger was substituted on in the second leg. After the defeat in the first leg, the 1-1 draw was not enough for promotion, the Löwen U21 remained in the regional league. In 2013/14 he made 16 missions and one hit, but only played one game over the full length. Especially at the beginning of the season, several injuries prevented further missions. In the summer of 2014, Karger became infected with Lyme disease and was absent for several months. After the winter break, he was part of the regular cast, and he made 18 appearances and six hits in the 2014/15 season .

In the 2015/16 season , Nico Karger was used in all games until the winter break and scored ten goals. A goal he scored against SpVgg Unterhaching on October 18 was voted the “Bayern hit” of October 2015 by the viewers of BFV.TV and the BR evening show . After having played in three first team friendly matches since the beginning of the season, he again took part in training for the professional team several times in November and was in the squad for the first time in a second division match on December 4. He was substituted on at the game against FSV Frankfurt and made his debut in professional football.

At the beginning of the 2020/21 season, Karger moved to SV Elversberg.
