history
From the game series 1966/67 began the period of the greatest upswing of FC Kronach 08. On May 21, 1967, the district league championship and the associated promotion to the national league could be achieved. In the 1970/71 season, the club then rose to the Bayern League , the top amateur class at the time. About 15 years later, the club was able to make the march from the district league to the Bayern league. Behind FC Bayern Munich , 1. FC Nürnberg , TSV 1860 Munich and TSV Vestenbergsgreuth , FC Kronach had the most viewers in Bavaria in the 1987/88 season with an average of 2,500. The club was able to welcome the most spectators in its history to the Bayernliga game against TSV 1860 Munich. In front of over 5,000 spectators at the hammer mill, they lost 2-0. In this series, under player-coach Norbert Runge, the league could be secured in the Bayern League. In the following year, the club rose again from the state league.
Philipp Mahr was able to be hired as a player-coach for the remaining games of the 06/07 season as well as for the 2007/08 season, whereupon FC Kronach was promoted directly to the regional league Upper Franconia West as the first in the Kronach regional league in that last season. After a weak start to the season in the district league, the club parted ways with coach Mahr in the autumn of 2008, while they were in last place in the table. After relegation from the district league, the FCK signed Franz Bauer as a coach for the 2009/10 district league season. The championship in the district league could be celebrated under the new coach already 4 game days before the end. The FCK was back in the district league.
