Wolfgang Mahr (born September 26, 1952 ) is a former German soccer player and coach .

Career

Mahr began his football career at FC Kronach 08 . In 1973 he moved to the regional league team SpVgg Bayreuth , for which he guarded the goal from 1973 to 1986 in 410 point games in the regional league, 2nd Bundesliga and Bayern league. In 1986 he ended his active career and was coach of the Bayern league team in October. After the championship and promotion to the 2nd division, he remained a coach until 1989. After the replacement in October 1989, the Bayern league club FC Bayern Hof trained.

In the spring of 2011 he took over the interim coaching position at the relegation-threatened Spvgg Bayreuth and rose with this from the Bayernliga to the state league, where he looked after the team until his resignation on October 12, 2011.

The profession he learned is a secondary school teacher for sports, handicrafts, technical drawing and computer science, which he continued to practice in addition to his training as a trainer.
