Karl-Heinz Wohland (born March 24, 1953 in Thurnau ) is a former German football player and coach .
Career as a player
Wohland began playing football at TSV 1902 Thurnau , the gymnastics and sports club based in his birthplace, and later moved to SC Altenplos, north of Bayreuth . Growing out of adolescence, Wohland belonged to the soccer department of the national league club ATS Kulmbach 1861 , with which he was promoted to the Bavarian League in 1974 as champion of the north relay . In his last season for the club, he was also a member of the Bavarian regional association , which won the amateur cup in Ludwigshafen am Rhein in 1977 with 4-2 after extra time against the selection of the Southwest regional association . Teammates were u. a. Klaus Augenthaler and Eduard Kirschner - his future team players; because for the 1977/78 season he was signed by Bayern Munich . Although Wohland did not play a Bundesliga or DFB Cup match in two seasons , he still played a single competitive game for Bayern : On November 23, 1977 , he played in the first leg of the first leg of the UEFA Cup in the 4-0 defeat in the away game against Eintracht Frankfurt 60 minutes before he was substituted for Uli Hoeneß . After that, Wohland completed three seasons for the Bayern league club ATS Kulmbach 1861 and one for league rivals VfL Frohnlach .
From 1983 to December 5, 1987, he played 153 games (9 goals) for SpVgg Bayreuth , with which he twice - over the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga ( 1985 and 1987 ) - rose from the Bayernliga to the 2nd Bundesliga . He made his second division debut on August 17, 1985 (4th matchday) in a 3-1 defeat in the home game against Karlsruher SC , and scored his first second division on September 7th, 1985 (8th matchday) with the 2-1 winner in the 57th minute in the home game against VfL Osnabrück . For Bayreuth, he played 52 games in the second division and scored two goals.
Career as a coach
After his active football career, Wohland took over as coach of the second division relegated SpVgg Bayreuth in 1991 . He later coached several lower-class clubs from the Bavarian State League, most recently FC Kronach 08 .
