Torsten "Tusche" Mattuschka (born October 4, 1980 in Cottbus ) is a former German soccer player and current coach.

Career

Mattuschka, who was born in Cottbus, started playing soccer at Rot Weiß Merzdorf at the age of five. At the age of seven, he moved to BSG Energie in 1988 , for which he played until 1996. At 15 he left the club and then played again in the 1996/97 season for Rot Weiß Merzdorf and from 1997 for SV Dissenchen , for which he scored 100 goals in 100 games in the national class. So Energie became aware of him again and signed him for the second men's team in the winter of 2002. However, this season he also made four appearances in the 1st Bundesliga in the Cottbus professional team . On the 31st matchday Mattuschka was substituted on in the 86th minute in the home game against Hamburger SV by coach Eduard Geyer . The midfielder also played in the top German division in the remaining three games. In the end he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Lausitzers as bottom of the table . In the following two years in the second division Mattuschka played ten times, seven of which were in the starting line-up and once played for the full 90 minutes.

In the summer of 2005 Mattuschka left Cottbus and moved to 1. FC Union Berlin in the Oberliga Nordost . With 25 missions and eight goals, he made a significant contribution to the relay victory of the Berliners and the associated promotion to the regional league . The following season did not go so well for him and he only played 17 games without scoring. It was not until the 2007/08 season that he finally developed into a top performer for Union, playing in 34 of the 38 matches and scoring seven goals. He qualified with Union for the new 3rd division , but missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga on the last day of the match. This succeeded in the following season . Mattuschka was one of the top performers of the club and contributed significantly in 35 missions to the relay victory and the associated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Here he played all 34 games in the 2009/10 season and was the club's most successful goalscorer (10 goals). Torsten Mattuschka was the club's captain since the 2010/11 season . In addition, Mattuschka is considered the crowd's favorite and the fans' identification figure, which is why the Union fans invented the so-called “Torsten Mattuschka” song, and he sing it for every goal and free kicks. In July 2014 he was replaced by Union's new trainer Norbert Düwel as captain by Damir Kreilach .

At the end of August 2014, it became known that Mattuschka was returning to Energie Cottbus after nine years in Berlin . In June 2016, after relegation to the Regionalliga Nordost, Energie Cottbus announced that the club and Mattuschka had agreed to terminate the affiliation contract. Since the 2016/17 season Mattuschka has been playing for the league promoted VSG Altglienicke . Mattuschka is crowning his active playing career in 2019 by winning the Berlin Cup for 7 seniors over 32.
