René Rydlewicz (born July 18, 1973 in Forst , GDR ), after his marriage to René Rydlewicz-Gubanow , is a German soccer coach and former soccer player.

Career

Rydlewicz started playing soccer at Chemie Döbern . He came to Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the age of 17 via Energie Cottbus and BFC Dynamo , where he made his debut in the Bundesliga on August 14, 1992 at the age of 19 . Rydlewicz had already played at the age of 16 with a special permit from the DFV in the BFC Dynamo game against Energie Cottbus, making him the youngest GDR league player of all time. In May 1989, Rydlewicz, at that time still 15 years old, was vice European champion in the jersey of the GDR youth team at the U-16 European Championship in Denmark.

After two years in Leverkusen , Rydlewicz moved in 1994 to TSV 1860 Munich , who had been promoted to the Bundesliga at the time , to return to the works club after two years. About the intermediate station Arminia Bielefeld Rydlewicz came in 2000 to Hansa Rostock , where he became a regular player and temporary captain of the Bundesliga team. He made his last Bundesliga appearance on May 10, 2008 against Bayer Leverkusen and was the last player in the Bundesliga who had already played in the GDR Oberliga. After his contract in Rostock was not extended after eight years, Rydlewicz joined the association league club Anker Wismar in the summer of 2008 .

In Wismar, the midfielder was to be active as a management player for another three years and also take on the duties of a team manager. In the spring of 2009, however, Rydlewicz returned to FC Hansa, which was in danger of relegation in the second division, where he succeeded Herbert Maronn as head of the licensing department. His contract, which was limited to 2011, was only valid for the first two leagues. After relegating from FC Hansa to the third division, he was replaced by Stefan Beinlich .

In August 2010, Rydlewicz and Karsten Wenzlawski took over the coaching position of the youth team at FSV Bentwisch . In 2011 Rydlewicz - meanwhile in possession of an A license - moved to FC Energie Cottbus , whose A-youth he coached in the U-19 Bundesliga season 2011/12 . In the 2013/14 season Rydlewicz acted temporarily as assistant coach of Jörg Böhme in the Cottbus second division team, which he also looked after as interim coach in the last game of the season.

On May 7, 2016, Rydlewicz was introduced to his former club BFC Dynamo as the new head coach and thus successor to Thomas Stratos from the 2016/17 regional league season. On December 16, 2018, after a disappointing first half of the season and acute risk of relegation, his resignation as coach of BFC Dynamo was announced.

On June 22nd, 2019 it was announced that Rydlewicz will act as an assistant coach for the DFB's U20 national team .
