offspring

Wenzlawski played from 1976 to 1982 in the men's division of FC Hansa Rostock. He played his first league game for the Rostock as a 17-year-old on December 18, 1976 in the junior league as a substitute striker in the encounter between Stahl Riesa and Hansa Rostock (4-1). Both 1977/78 and 1979/80 Wenzlawski played with Hansa II in the third-class district league Rostock , as the first team had previously been relegated from the upper league and was therefore not represented in the junior league. While Wenzlawski completed only three games in the junior league in the 1976/77 season, he came on twelve missions in 1978/79 and was successful as a center forward with three goals.

Oberliga

In the same season he was also called up in the GDR Oberliga. He made his debut in the top league on November 25, 1978 as a right winger in the encounter of the 10th game day Hansa Rostock - Chemie Böhlen (2-2). Overall, he played seven times in the league this season, where he was only in his first use in the starting line-up. He didn't score goals. The planned move to the regional division Dynamo Rostock in the summer of 1980 did not materialize, instead Wenzlawski advanced to the junior team's regular position in 1980/81 with 20 appearances and three goals, in which he was used alternately in attack and midfield. With the first team he played only two point games. The encounter between Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock (4-0) on April 11, 1981 was Wenzlawski's last league game, with which he had come together with three cup games to a total of 16 competitive games for the first team. His three goals during this period were scored in the league games. After he had played 22 games in the junior league in the 1981/82 season, he increased his number of games there to 57 games, in which he was successful eleven times with goals.

Second division

After the end of the 1981/82 season, Wenzlawski was delegated to FC Hansa Rostock and handed over to the second-class GDR league team Schiffahrt / Hafen Rostock . There he played seven point games as a striker and midfielder until October 1982, after which he had to do 18 months of military service. During this time he played for the army sports community Vorwärts Neubrandenburg, also in the GDR league, and by April 1984 made 26 league stakes, continuously as a midfielder. With the beginning of the 1984/85 season Wenzlawski played for the GDR league club TSG Bau Rostock , came to 30 point games in this season and was in all league games in 1985/86. Subsequently, TSG was relegated to the district league and Wenzlawski did not return to higher-class football.

Later, Wenzlawski was the organization manager of the licensing department and junior coach at FC Hansa Rostock. He was still active for the old men of the FSV Bentwisch in 2010/11.
