Molzbach is a district of Hünfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

The Molzbach district is located on the northwestern foothills of the Rhön , in the Hessian Rhön Nature Park and on the western edge of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve . The main town of Hünfeld is located northwest of Molzbach. North of the Nüst influx Molzbach carrying resort rises Rößberg .

history

The prehistoric settlement is proven by numerous barrows from the Bronze, Hallstatt and La Tène periods, which were uncovered north of the village on Bomberg and south of the village on Sandstrauch. Grave goods of the girl from Molzbach are in the Konrad-Zuse-Museum in Hünfeld.

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1334. The Catholic branch church St. Anna was built in 1850/51.

On February 1, 1971, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld.

Regular events

The Hutzel fire is traditionally burned on the first Sunday after Ash Wednesday . It is supposed to drive out winter and usher in spring.
