Roßbach is a district of Hünfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Roßbach is located in the north of the Fulda district, about 4 kilometers northeast of the city of Hünfeld. The built-up area ranges from 303  m above sea level. NN , west of the town center, on the state road 3171 and rises to about 280  m above sea level. NN at an eastern elevation ( 336  m above sea  level ). The highest point in the district marking is the elevation in the eastern part ( 354  m above sea  level ). The lowest point is at the confluence of the L 3171 into Steinbacher Strasse ( 303  m above sea  level ).

The L 3171 runs through Roßbach and leads from Eiterfeld via Leimbach and Betzenrod south to Hünfeld and Gruben .

Beyond the district marking, north of the closed town center, there is a pond and a separate courtyard. There is a quarry northeast of Roßbach on the elevation .

Neighboring places

Roßbach borders in the north on the town of Betzenrod, in the east on the town of Kirchhasel , in the south on the town of Hünfeld and in the southwest on the town of Gruben.

Roßbach was first mentioned in a document on March 27, 815.

On February 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

religion

The Catholic Church of the Assumption is located in the village . It is a branch church of the parish “St. Georg " Kirchhasel and organizationally belongs to the pastoral network " St. Benedict ”, Hünfeld country . The church houses an organ made by the Euler brothers in 1892, which was restored in 2004 by Orgelbau Waltershausen .
