Gruben is a district of the market town of Burghaun in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

Gruben is around one and a half kilometers from the core town of Burghaun and is located east of it at the entrance of the short Roßbach into the valley floor of the Haune . The location has grown together with an industrial park in the neighboring town of Hünfeld . The district area is 144 hectares (1961), of which 5 hectares are forested.

history

Gruben was first mentioned in a document in 1421. In 1501 the place, like a large part of the area, was desolate .

On February 1, 1971, in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipality of Gruben was incorporated into the market town of Burghaun in the district of Hünfeld .

The district road 149 , which connects the town as Steinbacher Strasse with Steinbach and the traffic junction that connects the federal road 84 with the federal road 27 near Hünfeld , leads through pits .
