Hechelmannskirchen is a district of the market town of Burghaun in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

Hechelmannskirchen is around six kilometers from the core town of Burghaun and lies to the west of it on the upper Schwarzbach, which flows through the Kiebitzgrund as a ten kilometer long right eastern tributary of the Fulda . The neighboring towns of Großenmoor , Langenschwarz and Schlotzau are also located in this valley system . Hechelmannskirchen also includes Hof Köhlersmoor, 400 meters from the village . The district area is 216 hectares (1961), of which nine hectares are forested.

history

The village was in the 13th century Hucheleheim later and Hechelmich called. The place was hardly mentioned in documents and was in 1506 the Fulda fief of those of Buchenau.

On October 1, 1971, in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent communities of Großenmoor , Hechelmannskirchen, Langenschwarz and Schlotzau were merged to form the new community of Kiebitzgrund .

Only months later, on August 1, 1972, the municipality of Kiebitzgrund, and thus also Hechelmannskirchen, was incorporated into the municipality of Burghaun through the final regional reorganization law.

traffic

State road 3169 , which connects the town with Burghaun and Schlitz , runs through Hechelmannskirchen .
