Urs Kolly (born July 24, 1968 in Tafers , Canton of Friborg ) is a Swiss athlete and seven-time gold medalist at Paralympic Games .

He has been doing athletics at TSV Düdingen since he was ten. In 1989, while doing military service in Valais , he had an accident as a passenger on a motorcycle and lost the lower leg on his right leg. Since then he has been training with a prosthesis. He was the first athlete to not use his healthy leg as an ankle leg in the long jump and was very successful with it.

At the 1992 Summer Paralympic Games in Barcelona , Kolly won the gold medal in discus throwing. Since then he has won the Pentathlon and the long jump three times in a row at the Paralympic Summer Games .

He has also won seven gold, five silver and five bronze medals at world and European championships. In 2004 he was voted Swiss Disabled Sportsman of the Year .

Kolly is a father of three and has been running the dairy in St. Antoni since 2007 .
