Hünhan is a district of the market town of Burghaun in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

Hünhan is around one kilometer from the core town of Burghaun and is located southeast of it on the western edge of the Haunetal . The local situation has grown together structurally through a commercial area with Burghaun. The district area is 377 hectares (1961), 94 hectares of which are forested.

history

Appears in documents Hunioham or Hunihan first time in years 815/816 in a decade contract between the Fulda Abbot Ratgar and the Bishop of Wurzburg Wolfgar .

On December 31, 1971, in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse, the previously independent municipalities of Burghaun, Hünhan, Rothenkirchen and Steinbach in the district of Hünfeld were merged into one municipality called Burghaun .

District road 140 , which connects the town with Burghaun and Sargenzell , runs through Hünhan . In the through-town, the K 141 branches off from the K 140, which leads to the traffic junction that connects the federal highway 84 with the federal highway 27 near Hünfeld .
