Oberfeld is a district of Hünfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda . On February 1, 1971, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Geographical location

The Oberfeld district is located on the northern foothills of the Rhön and is part of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve .

The main town of Hünfeld is located northeast of the village. State road 3176 runs between the two places, and federal motorway 7 is to the west .

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1552. At that time it belonged to the Fulda monastery .
