Dammersbach is a district of Hünfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

The district of Dammersbach is the second largest district in terms of area and lies on the edge of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve . The next largest city in the south is Fulda, about 16 kilometers away and in the north Bad Hersfeld, about 26 km away.

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1093. The church was consecrated in 1186. In 1633 Dammersbach had 22 households and in 1895 a total of 246 inhabitants. A new school was built in 1938, which was expanded in 1952 and closed in 1974.

On December 31, 1971, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Hünfeld.

Local public transport is provided by the Fulda local transport company with bus routes 74 and 85.

In the area of ​​the Dammersbach district of the city of Hünfeld, the hunting club Diana Hünfeld eV operates a shooting range on the Rosskuppe. There have been u. a. Hessian and, in alternation with other shooting ranges, also federal championships in hunting shooting by the German Hunting Association .
