Hunting shooting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hunting shooting is practice shooting with hunting weapons . The ball shot and the shot shot are the two main categories of hunting.

In countries where hunting with other firearms , e.g. B. Handguns , and weapons equivalent to firearms are allowed, crossbows and bows are used , for example in the USA.

Goal setting

The objective of hunting shooting is primarily the safe handling of one's own weapons and the learning of a high accuracy through constant practice and thus serves to improve animal welfare . Hunting shooting includes training, practice, performance and comparison shooting.

Situation in Germany

Rifle shooting

The precise bullet shot is practiced on officially approved shooting ranges. Named as “ shooting ” and severely restricted, you can also shoot in your own hunting ground . A ring target or a standardized game target (e.g. buck target, fox target, etc.) is shot from a distance of 100 m . In addition, the hunter can practice shooting the so-called running boar on special shooting lanes . It is a target in the form of a wild boar that moves on a rail at a distance of 50 or 60 m from right to left at variable speed through the field of fire. This discipline is shot freehand while standing. The fleeting bullet shot is practiced in shooting cinemas with one's own weapon in hunting caliber with films of various degrees of difficulty. The distance to the screen is about 30 m.

For cost reasons, mainly smaller, still hunting calibers are used. See: List of Small Arms Ammunition Types .

Shotgun shooting

With the shotgun there are also different ways to practice shooting at game. At many shooting ranges, the shot distance is 35 m, and you can fire at a tilt phase that - compared to the running boar when shooting with a bullet - drives past the shooter in either direction.

Probably the best known type of practice shooting with shot is clay pigeon shooting , whereby the fleeting shot at game birds is simulated. There are also the disciplines of trap and skeet and parcour shooting to depict the various flight situations of the game.

Handgun shooting

Since pistols and revolvers of certain calibres are also used for hunting, there is also the corresponding discipline of practice shooting, which enables the pastoral use of these close-range weapons, e.g. B. should practice in a search .

Championships

In Germany, the host German Hunting Association (DJV) and its affiliated regional hunting associations annual basis championships in sports shooting in the disciplines of tinned , shotgun and handgun shooting .
