Dejan Bozic (born January 22, 1993 in Heilbronn-Neckargartach ) is a German soccer player with Serbian roots. The striker has been under contract with third division club SV Meppen since the 2020/21 season .
Career
Bozic comes from the Heilbronn district of Neckargartach and was trained in football at regional clubs such as VfR Heilbronn or TSG 1899 Hoffenheim .
For his last training club, FC-Astoria Walldorf , the offensive player was on the pitch for the first time in the men's area on the last day of the 2010/11 season after a substitution. In the 2012/13 season he was a regular player and, with 24 goals and six assists in 34 games, played a key role as the top scorer in Walldorf's runner-up.
This earned him a two-year contract with SC Freiburg , for whose regional league team he was used in 30 league games.
After his contract expired, the offensive player returned to Walldorf for one season and was eleventh with the team. In the summer of 2016, Bozic moved to league competitor TuS Koblenz , where he received a one-year contract. In spring 2017, the regular employee's contract was extended for a further year after winning the Rhineland Cup. A year later he was with the team again in the cup final, which was lost 1-0 to city rivals Red-White .
In the summer of 2018 , Chemnitz FC , relegated to the Regionalliga Nordost , signed the German Serbs and provided them with a two-year contract; here, too, he was able to quickly play his way into the first team. Together with his strike partner Daniel Frahn , who was the top scorer with 24 goals, Bozic (21) scored over half of the 82 goals of the season, which brought the club the championship and the immediate return to the third division . The winger missed the final in the Sachsenpokal 2018/2019 , which Chemnitz won 2-0 against future league rivals Zwickau due to a yellow card suspension. After the rise, Bozic soon lost his place in the storm center to the much more successful Austrian Philipp Hosiner, who was signed up for the dismissed Frahn in September 2019 . He was still used regularly, but was only able to contribute seven direct goals and at the end of the season he was relegated back to the regional league with the Himmelblauen .
The attacker did not take the step and instead signed a two-year contract with SV Meppen, who remained in the third division . There he should replace the most successful scorer, Deniz Undav , who had left the club.
