Deniz Undav (born July 19, 1996 in Achim ) is a German soccer player . The striker is under contract with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium .

Career

After his beginnings in the youth of his home club TSV Achim, Undav was trained from youth D in the youth departments of Werder Bremen , SC Weyhe and TSV Havelse . He made his first appearances in the men's division for Havelse in the 2014/15 season in the Regionalliga Nord . From the following season he was a regular player and top scorer and was able to contribute 32 hits and 14 assists .

A move to Eintracht Braunschweig followed in the summer of 2017 . The attacker only played eighteen times for the regional league team due to an injury and had nine goals and four assists; on the penultimate matchday he was in the second division squad without a run . For the third division season 2018/19 Undav left Braunschweig and joined SV Meppen , where he received a two-year contract. After getting used to professional football, the striker scored 14 goals and twelve assists in the 2019/20 season up to matchday 27, after which the season was forcibly interrupted due to the global COVID-19 pandemic . During this break, SV Meppen announced at the beginning of April 2020 that Undav would not extend its expiring contract and would switch to the Belgian second division to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise for the 2020/21 season . After the resumption of play, Undav was always in the starting line-up up to and including the 36th match day and collected four more points.

In the run-up to the penultimate third division match day, the player stated that he would leave Germany early so as not to miss the start of Royale Union training. In addition, the "insurance cover should not have been clearly defined".
