Hilal El-Helwe ( Arabic هلال الحلوي, DMG Hilāl al-Ḥalawī ; * November 24, 1994 ) is a German - Lebanese soccer player who is under contract with SV Meppen .

El-Helwe began his career in the youth of Hannover 96 , where he was active until he moved to TSV Havelse (2008). After two years in the youth teams of the Garbsen club , he moved to SC Langenhagen , where he played in the club's youth team for the next two years before returning to Havelse and strengthening the U-19s there.

TSV Havelse and change to VfL Wolfsburg

After a season in the U-19 team of TSV Havelse, the striker was appointed to the club's first team at the beginning of the 2013/14 season and came up against the second on August 31, 2013 (5th matchday of the Regionalliga Nord ) Team from Eintracht Braunschweig came to his first professional assignment. El-Helwe came on in the 63rd minute for Maurice Maletzki, the game was lost at the end with 2: 3. In the 2014/15 season he was a member of the TSV Havelse first team and made 33 appearances (11 goals).

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season, Hilal El-Helwe moved to league rivals VfL Wolfsburg II with whom he won the championship in the Regionalliga Nord, playing in 22 games and scoring seven goals. As part of the following promotion relegation El-Helwe was used in both games against SSV Jahn Regensburg , also prepared a goal, but the promotion failed because the second leg was lost 2-0.

Hallescher FC

After the missed promotion, the striker moved to Halleschen FC in the 3rd division , where he received a two-year contract. He played his first third division game on August 6, 2016 at the home game against Chemnitzer FC (2nd matchday of the 2016/17 season) when he came on for Sascha Pfeffer in the 78th minute . The game ended 1-1.

Apollo Smyrnis

In the summer of 2018, the striker went to Greece for first division club Apollon Smyrnis , with whom he was relegated to bottom of the table after 21 league (3 goals) and four cup games (1 goal).

SV Meppen

A year later, the Lebanese returned to the German 3rd division and signed a two-year contract with SV Meppen .

National team

Hilal El-Helwe, whose parents come from Lebanon, was first appointed to the squad of the Lebanese national team in October 2016 by national coach Miodrag Radulović . He played his first game on October 8, 2016 as part of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup against Myanmar . He also played against Kuwait (October 13, 2015) and South Korea (March 24, 2016). He scored his first goal for the Lebanon national team in the 1-1 draw in the second leg against Myanmar on March 29, 2016.
