Tino Berbig (born October 7, 1980 in Jena ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper and today's coach and functional . For VfL Osnabrück he completed a. a. 62 games in the 2nd Bundesliga .
He has been employed at Wacker Nordhausen as the sporting director since December 2018 .
Career
Berbig began his career in 1988 in the F-youth team of FC Carl Zeiss Jena . This was followed by first experiences at the U19 level of FC Carl Zeiss Jena before he was brought into the first team in 1999. There he stood between the posts until 2004. For the 2004/05 season he moved to VfL Osnabrück , for which he played 90 regional league games and four cup games. In July 2006 Berbig changed clubs again and went to Dynamo Dresden , where he only played 23 games this season and was quickly only the third force in goal.
For the 2007/08 season, Berbig finally came back to VfL Osnabrück, where he fought a duel for number one in the Osnabrück goal with Frederik Gößling . He played his first second division game on September 21, 2007 against FC Erzgebirge Aue . After relegation in 2009, Berbig celebrated on May 8, 2010 with Osnabrück the championship title of the 3rd division and thus the return to the 2nd division. After relegated again in the 2010/11 season, he received no new contract in Osnabrück. He then kept fit with his youth club FC Carl Zeiss Jena , where he signed a one-year contract on July 20, 2011. As a regular goalkeeper, he played all 38 league games in the 2011/12 season, but had to accept relegation to the Regionalliga Nordost with FC Carl Zeiss . On April 8, 2015, Berbig announced his retirement at the end of the season, but decided to continue his career in June. He signed on June 16, 2015 together with his club colleague Pierre Becken at Wacker Nordhausen . After 76 competitive appearances for the Thuringian, the goalkeeper ended his active career in autumn 2018.
After the active career
Shortly after the end of his career as a player, Berbig was appointed to the position of sporting director at his last employer, Wacker Nordhausen. Together with Matthias Peßolat , the assistant coach of the first team, he took over the post of head coach for some time in winter 2018 and winter 2019.
Remarkable
As a representative of the Regionalliga Nordost, Berbig is on the players' council of the Association of Contract Soccer Players (VdV).
