Leon Dajaku (born April 12, 2001 in Waiblingen ) is a German soccer player . After several years at VfB Stuttgart, the versatile offensive player has been playing for the amateur team of FC Bayern Munich in the 3rd division since summer 2019 . He made several short appearances in the Bundesliga for the professional teams of both clubs and is a junior national player.

Beginnings in and around Stuttgart

Dajaku initially played for the Bambini and the F-youth of the Spvgg Rommelshausen , a few kilometers south of his native Waiblingen, east of Stuttgart . Then he was trained at FSV Waiblingen and, from 2014, at VfB Stuttgart . In the 2017/18 season he scored 23 goals in 21 league games in the B-Junioren-Bundesliga Süd / Südwest , but at the end of the season had to settle for second place with his team behind FC Bayern Munich . From December 2017, he also appeared eight times in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and scored one goal.

In the 2018/19 season Dajaku finally belonged to the A-youth (U19). In November 2018, the head coach of the professionals, Markus Weinzierl , announced that Dajaku would initially train with the club's Bundesliga team until the end of the year. Leon Dajaku also made two short appearances in the Bundesliga in December . After the turn of the year, however, he played his everyday footballing life again with the A-Juniors, for whom he contributed eleven goals in 24 games in the league during the season and thus made a significant contribution to the first place in the South / Southwest relay, which was achieved by a clear margin. VfB reached the final of the German A-Junior Championship against Borussia Dortmund . In that final, Leon Dajaku scored the opening goal to 2-1, VfB even increased it to 3-1, but Dortmund responded with four goals and won the title with a 5-3 victory. In the cup competition, the DFB Junior Cup, they were more successful and won the title by beating RB Leipzig 2-1 in the final . With four goals in the course of that competition, Dajaku also contributed significantly to the overall success of his team. In addition to his many games for the A-Juniors, Leon Dajaku came to a short stint for the Swabian amateur team in the fourth-rate Regionalliga Südwest in March 2019 and sat on the substitute bench of the professional team towards the end of the season.

Dajaku started the summer preparation for 2019 with the professional team relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga under the new head coach Tim Walter . After he was injured during the first training camp at the ankle, he missed the second training camp and should be a member of the squad from now on the second team in the preseason in the fifth rate Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemberg was staying.

FC Bayern Munich

Shortly before the start of the third division 2019/20 season, Dajaku moved to the second team of FC Bayern Munich , which had previously been promoted to the third division . There he signed a contract with a term until June 30, 2023. For the first team, he was used in 2 Bundesliga games as a substitute and therefore became German champion . Through several nominations in the matchday squad, Dajaka also won the DFB Cup without being used . He also played once with the A-Juniors (U19), for whom he was last eligible to play this season, in the A-Juniors Bundesliga and the UEFA Youth League .

National team

Leon Dajaku made his first appearances for the U17 national team in September 2017, but was not present at the World Cup in India, which took place a few weeks later . In 2018 he then took part in the European Championships in England, where he was eliminated with the team in the preliminary round. Between November 2018 and March 2019, three appearances for the U18 team followed . He has been playing for the U19 national team since September 2019 .
