Dennis Waidner (born February 8, 2001 ) is a German soccer player . He mostly plays as a right defender , but is sometimes also used on the left side of defense or in defensive midfield. As a 13-year-old, he moved from SSV Ulm in 1846 to the youth team at FC Bayern Munich and in early summer 2020 joined the FC Bayern amateur team , which plays in the third division .

Athletic career

Dennis Waidner played in the youth team of SSV Ulm 1846 until summer 2014 . The first team of the "Spatzen" at the time mostly fluctuated between fourth and fifth division , but enjoyed a good reputation in the junior division in southern Germany and is often represented in the top divisions with its youth teams. The Ulm youth teams and thus Waidner repeatedly met well-known opponents at various tournaments, including FC Bayern Munich . That same FC Bayern then took the 13-year-old Waidner under his wing in the summer of 2014. There he first played in the U14, who, as the younger C-Juniors of FC Bayern, played for points in the C-Junior Bayern League South . His first season in the Bavarian capital under the Austrian coach Harald Cerny ended with second place behind the U15 of SpVgg Unterhaching and two goals this season from him. In the following year with the U15 in the C-Junior Regional League South, the away trips were a little further and the opponents stronger. Waidner was not always part of the regular eleven there and the team only took a place in midfield, far behind the strong opponents from Hoffenheim , Stuttgart and Frankfurt . In the summer of 2017, Dennis Waidner made it to the U17s in the B-Junior Bundesliga via the U16s in the B-Junior Bayernliga, but was only used sporadically and did not make it to the final of the German B-Junior Championship considered. From November 2018 the defender made his first competitive appearances in the U19, but was not part of the regular this season. That was the case from summer 2019, also regularly in the UEFA Youth League , until finally, due to the corona pandemic, games came to a standstill in March 2020 and the season in the youth sector was no longer continued.

In the third division , on the other hand, game operations were resumed from the end of May with ghost games and Waidner was substituted on in several games of the Bayern amateurs from the beginning of June after he had trained there since the winter and had also been used in two test matches. He is planned for the third division squad in the future and has extended his contract with FC Bayern until summer 2022 despite requests from other clubs from the second and third division.
