Tim Laszlo Walter (born November 8, 1975 in Bruchsal ) is a German football coach . Most recently he was head coach of VfB Stuttgart .

Career

Walter was active as an amateur player at ASV Durlach in the Baden association league.

He began his coaching career in 2013 at Karlsruher SC , where he coached its U17 and U19. For the 2015/16 season he moved to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of 200,000 euros . There he acted as the coach of the U17, with whom he won the German championship of the B-Juniors in June 2017. In July 2017 he took over the second team of FC Bayern from Danny Schwarz and became runner-up with them in the Regionalliga Bayern behind TSV 1860 Munich . At the same time, he completed his training for the football instructor license in 2017.

Walter moved to the 2018/19 season as head coach for the second division Holstein Kiel as the successor to Markus Anfang . With the Kielers, he finished the season in 6th place.

For the 2019/20 season , Walter took over VfB Stuttgart as the successor to interim coach Nico Willig . He signed a contract with the Bundesliga relegated team until June 30, 2021. In the first half of the season, the team under him always finished third from the third matchday on, but also lost five times, including 2: 6 in Hamburg . At the end of December 2019, Walter was finally fired from VfB.

Private

Walter grew up in Karlsruhe and studied sports science. He is married and has three children.
