The ASV Durlach 1902 is a sports club from the Karlsruhe district of Durlach . The club has around 400 members in the football , running club , women's gymnastics and martial arts departments . The most successful team are the footballers playing in the Karlsruhe district league.

history

The club was founded on May 14, 1902 as FC Germania Durlach . After the dissolution in 1945 and through the merger with other Durlach sports clubs (VfR, Turnerschaft, TG Durlach, swimming club) on September 9, 1945, the ASV Durlach was created . In February 1946 the gymnastics club split off again, and the following year the tennis club joined the ASV.

In the post-war years, ASV Durlach also had its most successful football days. In 1950 one rose to the 2nd Oberliga Süd and could hold there until 1955. In the following years, ASV Durlach played mostly in the 1st and 2nd amateur league. In the meantime it even fell down to the A-Class (1961/62). Under coach "Kaddel" Ehrmann and with the financial support of the patron Hermann Terbrak, the team, for which Rolf Bierhoff also appeared, managed to return to the Baden amateur league for two years (from 1965 to 1967). This was followed by another crash in the district league.

It was not until the end of the 1980s that the club was able to build on the successes of bygone days when it returned to the Nordbaden Association League. In 1993 and 2005 one achieved the championship in the association league and the associated promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

After the immediate relegation from the Oberliga in the 2005/06 season, the club played in the Baden Association League . There he was able to achieve the championship again in the 2007/08 round and played again in the Baden-Württemberg league. In addition, ASV Durlach won the Baden Cup competition ( BFV Hoepfner Cup ) in 2008 and qualified for the DFB Cup . There the club met Arminia Bielefeld (1: 2) in the first main round on August 10, 2008 .

Rainer Krieg , who had been coach since the 2009/10 season, resigned after the game on the penultimate matchday of the 2010/11 season. The team, already relegated, lost 9-1 away at FC Nöttingen . At the end of 2012, the club came to the brink of bankruptcy and in 2012/13 also rose from the association league via relegation. A committee made up of a dozen long-time association members restructured the association and realigned it. In 2013 the "PRO ASV" development association was founded and the clubhouse reopened in autumn of the same year. At the end of the 2013/14 season, the ASV missed promotion to the association league as second in the league table again in the relegation. A year later, in May 2015, he returned to the association league as a national league champion. In 2018 it went back to the state league and in 2019 the relegation followed as bottom of the table in the district league Karlsruhe.
