The 2020/21 season will be the 14th season of the B-Junior Bundesliga . The start of the season is planned for September 20, 2020.
After the preseason was declared prematurely ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic following a decision by the DFB on May 25, 2020, no reigning champions and cup winners will take part. Since the relegations were temporarily suspended, the field of participants will consist of the 42 participants from the previous season and the promoted players. The names of the promoted players were made by the respective division carriers in their own responsibility. 17 teams in each of the North / Northeast and West relay teams and 18 teams in the South / Southwest relay teams are allowed to participate in the game.
B-Junioren-Bundesliga 2020/21 (North / Northeast relay)
Holstein Kiel takes part as the quotient champion of the B-Jugend-Regionalliga Nord , the quotient runner-up, Hamburger SV II, was not eligible for promotion. Hertha 03 Zehlendorf moved up as the quotient runner-up of the Regionalliga Nordost for Hertha BSC II, which was not eligible for promotion. Likewise the FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin , which was stronger than the second eligible participant of the Regionalliga Nord, the Eimsbütteler TV .
From the subordinate leagues, SC Fortuna Köln rose as a representative of the B-Jugend-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein, SC Paderborn 07 as a representative of the B-Jugend-Verbandsliga Westfalen and Rot-Weiss Essen from the B-Jugend-Verbandsliga Niederrhein in the B-Juniors -Bundesliga.
B-Junioren-Bundesliga 2020/21 (relay south / southwest)
As direct climbers, TSV 1860 Munich came from the B-Youth Bayern League and 1. FC Heidenheim from the B-Youth Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in the B-Junior Bundesliga. The quotient champions of the B-Jugend-Regionalliga Südwest, 1. FC Kaiserslautern , and the B-Jugend-Hessenliga, FSV Frankfurt , were also added, as there were no promotion games.
