The 2020/21 season of the Hessenliga is set to be the 43rd season of the football Hessenliga and the thirteenth as the fifth highest division in Germany. The opening between KSV Baunatal and SV Steinbach is scheduled for September 4, 2020.

Attendees

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , an extraordinary association day on June 20, 2020 was necessary in order to finally decide on the evaluation of the canceled preseason and thus on the participants of the current season. Accordingly, there were no relegations from and into the Hessen League. From the league downwards, a final table was calculated according to the quotient rule. From the subordinate association leagues, the best teams eligible for promotion as well as the team with the strongest quotient of those who originally took part in the promotion relegations were promoted.
