SpVgg Hadamar

The SpVgg Hadamar was founded on June 25, 1922 by merging the association "Union" and the gymnastics club and was entered in the register of associations in the same year. The game association was initially a pure football club. By joining the gymnastics club in 1906 Hadamar on May 25, 1960 several other departments were created. In 1971 the table tennis friends Hadamar joined and in 1993 the affiliation of a previously loose group of runners, which since then has formed a separate department under the name of “running club”. For a short time, the game association also included departments for field handball and athletics, which have since been dissolved.

The first soccer field was on the northern outskirts of Hadamar on the "Stipplerwiese" and from 1923 on the site of a brickworks. A new hard court was inaugurated at Pentecost 1946. In 1966 a grass pitch with a 400 meter running track was built. In 2001, today's sports facility with grass and hard courts was converted into a pure football arena. With the promotion to the Hessenliga in 2011, a small grandstand was built for around 200 spectators. In addition to the sports facility in the core city of Hadamar, the club has an artificial turf sports field in the Niederhadamar district, which was completely renovated in 2013.

In the 2000s, the game association made its way into higher leagues. From 2002 to 2006 the team played in the district league of Wiesbaden. Relegation in 2006 was followed by immediate promotion to the regional league in 2007. Two years later, the team became champions and in 2009 they made the leap to the Hessen Central Association. Two years later, he was promoted to the Hessen League for the first time under coach Heiko Weidenfeller. The team belongs to this highest amateur football class in Hessen to this day. Walter Reitz was the trainer of the Hessen League team until 2016. Florian Dempewolf followed him. In the 2016/17 season, under the new coach, the team reached the finals of the Hessen Cup , the  football association cup of  the  Hessian Football Association (HFV) , and was only just barely beaten on penalties by third division SV Wehen Wiesbaden .

The second team of the SV currently plays in the group league Wiesbaden and the third senior team plays in the district league B Limburg-Weilburg.

In 2014 a women's football department was founded after girls' football had previously been offered at the fusion club SC Niederhadamar.

The first women's team was able to advance from the district league A to the district class in the first year of their participation in the championship game. Another year later followed the next promotion to the district league Wiesbaden, in which the team occupied first place in the table before the start of the winter break. Two district cup wins and one district cup victory complete the path to success.

In 2015, due to the strong influx, a second women's team was reported, which also takes part in the play instinct and plays in the district league.
