    Promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga

    KSV Hessen Kassel took second place in the group south in the subsequent round of promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and thus missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga.

    German amateur championship

    As a Hessian representative, Rot-Weiss Frankfurt took part in the German amateur championship in 1991 and was eliminated in the group games of the preliminary round with SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg , SpVgg Unterhaching and Eintracht Trier .
