The Oberliga Nordrhein 1990/91 was the thirteenth season of the jointly by the Football Association of the Middle Rhine and the Lower Rhine Football Association conducted Oberliga Nordrhein . The master of the league played similarly to previous years in the promotion round against the champions of the other top leagues for the promotion to the 2. Bundesliga , while the runner-up to participate in the Amateur Championship was justified. From the Oberliga Nordrhein, FC Remscheid qualified for the promotion round, in which the Bergisch deserved 13: 3 points for the second division in the first season after reunification . The previous year's relegated team from the 2nd Bundesliga Alemannia Aachen had to be content with participating in the amateur championship as second. In the following season 1991/92, the amateurs of 1. FC Köln , Bonner SC and Sportfreunde Katernberg were relegated to the subordinate association leagues Mittelrhein and Niederrhein . These were replaced by the Association League champions from Preussen Krefeld (Lower Rhine) and the SC Brück (Middle Rhine). The list of only 16 teams for the 1991/92 season was completed by the fifteenth of the 2nd Bundesliga Rot-Weiss Essen , who fell victim to a license withdrawal .
