Oberliga Nordrhein 1982/83
2nd Bundesliga 1983/84

The Oberliga Nordrhein 1983/84 was the sixth season of the jointly by the Football Association of the Middle Rhine and the Lower Rhine Football Association conducted Oberliga Nordrhein . The master of the league played similarly to previous years in the promotion round against the champions of the other top leagues for the promotion to the 2. Bundesliga , while the runner-up to participate in the Amateur Championship was justified. From the Oberliga Nordrhein, 1. FC Bocholt, who was second in the previous year, qualified for the promotion rounds with six points ahead of SC Viktoria Köln , whereby Bocholt could not prevail in the promotion round and thus remained in the Oberliga. In the subordinate association leagues Mittelrhein and Niederrhein , a previous year's climber rose again immediately in the following season 1984/85 with VfB Speldorf , while Hamborn 07 and TuS 08 Langerwehe occupied the remaining relegation places. Since Bocholt missed promotion to the second division and with Rot-Weiss Essen and BV Lüttringhausen two teams from the second division were relegated to the top division, only two promoted teams - Siegburger SV 04 and VfL Rhede - were admitted to the league the league will be played again with 18 teams.
