Jürgen Niggemann (born January 4, 1962 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

From 1985 to the end of his career in 1998 he played for SC Fortuna Köln and played a total of 357 second division games, in which he scored 18 goals. There are also 25 games in the DFB Cup (4 goals). In his youth, Niggemann played for the Sauerland club TSV Bigge-Olsberg , before moving to 1. FC Bocholt in the Oberliga Nordrhein from 1982 to 1985 , where he became champions in 1983/84 . With his 357 appearances for Fortuna Cologne, Jürgen Niggemann is one of the record players in the 2nd Bundesliga . In his first season with Cologne in 1985/86 , he almost achieved promotion to the Bundesliga with the club . In the relegation, however, Borussia Dortmund prevailed 8-0 in the third decider. In 1988/89 the defender reached fourth place in the 2nd Bundesliga again with the Fortunes. Jürgen Niggemann played his last game for SC Fortuna Köln on June 7, 1998 against Eintracht Frankfurt .
