Career

Coming from the youth of BV Holsterhausen-Dorsten , the attacker convinced the Westphalian amateur league team and in 1975 switched to professional football at Schwarz-Weiß Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga North . Nabrotzki scored his first second division goal on matchday two in a 2-0 win over DJK Gütersloh, and in total he scored six goals this season in his first year. After another season at Essen's Uhlenkrug , Jürgen Nabrotzki moved to the then second division promoted 1. FC Bocholt in 1977 . After relegation, he remained loyal to the club in the Oberliga Nordrhein , where he was the second best Oberliga shooter behind Uwe Montelett with 16 goals this season . The direct resurgence failed and so Nabrotzki moved in 1979 to the champions and second division promoted Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . During the 1980/81 season he moved from Oberhausen to 2nd division competitor SpVgg Erkenschwick , but was relegated to the Oberliga Westfalen. Even with Erkenschwick, the striker failed in 1982 on direct re-promotion, his 24 goals of the season were not enough. Jürgen Nabrotzki moved back to the Oberliga Nordrhein for SC Viktoria Köln , a year later he returned to 1. FC Bocholt. With Bocholt he celebrated the league championship in 1983/84 and the entry into the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals, but failed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga. Then Nabrotzki moved to the league competitor Rot-Weiss Essen , where he again celebrated the league championship and promotion to the second division in 1984/85 at the end of his career.

Jürgen Nabrotzki played a total of 130 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 24 goals. He also scored three goals in 15 DFB Cup games.
