Uwe Montelett

Uwe Montelett (born July 24, 1956 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

As a youth player, Montelett was part of the squad of Bundesliga club MSV Duisburg , for which he played a Bundesliga game in the 1974/75 season . In 1976, the powerful midfielder moved to the reigning Niederrheinmeister 1. FC Bocholt , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga twice in 1977 and 1980 . Since after the 1980/81 season, however, the single-track second division was introduced, the chances of relegation were slim and the club rose immediately despite 12th place. In the Oberliga Nordrhein he was the top scorer in 1979 wearing the Bocholt jersey. With the club he reached the semi-finals of the German amateur championship in both 1980 and 1983 . 1983 Montelett followed his former coach Friedel Elting to the second division promoted Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . From 1985 he played again in the Oberliga Nordrhein for VfL Rhede and Olympia Bocholt .

Uwe Montelett made a total of 108 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored 14 goals.
