The Ballspielverein Holsterhausen-Dorsten is a sports club from the Westphalian town of Dorsten .
history
BVH Dorsten was founded on May 6, 1920 as BV Holsterhausen , after the football team's promotion to the Association League Westphalia in 1963, it changed its name to BVH Dorsten. In the first two seasons in the then third-highest division, the club placed in the top third of the table. The highlight was the fourth place in the 1964/65 season . In 1968 the team rose after five years of league membership together with TuRa Bergkamen in the fourth division. In 1971 she was about to return to the third division, in the end it was only enough for the runner-up behind the Erler SV 08 . With the introduction of the Oberliga Westfalen in the summer of 1978, the Landesliga became fifth class. A year later, the BVH was relegated to the district league and then became the elevator team between the district league and district league A. In 2001, the Dorsten runners-up in the district league behind the SSV Buer . In 2015 the club was relegated to the district league A.
In addition to football, the badminton department in particular has made a name for itself nationwide. In addition to some single title winners in North Rhine-Westphalia , the team competed in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2002 to 2005 and from 2008 to 2010 .
