TuRa Bergkamen is a sports club from Bergkamen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The first men's football team currently plays in the A2 Unna / Hamm district league . Other branches of the club are judo , athletics , swimming , gymnastics , tennis and table tennis .
history
The club was founded in 1945 as the successor to the gymnastics and sport Bergkamen and workers gymnastics club Bergkamen , which were dissolved in the Third Reich .
The greatest successes in the club's history were in 1948, 1965 and 1977 each promotion to the highest Westphalian amateur league. Between 1948 and 1962, TuRa Bergkamen played a total of 14 seasons, first in the Landesliga Westfalen and later in the Association League Westphalia . Between 1965 and 1968 for three seasons and again in the 1977/78 season, the club again reached the association league.
