The SV Baesweiler 09 was a German football club from Baesweiler .

history

Founded in 1909 as Superior Baesweiler , the club merged with Alemannia Baesweiler in 1920 to form SV Baesweiler 09. Two years later, SV Oidtweiler joined. The club was extremely successful in the twenties and early thirties. They had an extremely strong team that is still known today in the Aachen region as “the boy wonder”. The highlight of this era was a championship game in front of almost 11,000 spectators against Alemannia Aachen with the then national player Reinhold Munzenberg .

From 1947 the SV Baesweiler took part in the amateur league Middle Rhine . Until relegation in 1956 he joined the club in the various seasons of the highest amateur league. After the immediate rise, the club was represented in the league until it was relegated again in 1964 . A highlight was the championship in the 1959/60 season . In the following round of promotion to the II. Division , however, the team failed at BV Osterfeld . Again, it only took a year to return and then the club temporarily placed in the top division.

Between 1970 and 1972, again in fourth class, the club subsequently established itself in the amateur league. With the best placement in its club history as second in the table, the club qualified in 1977/78 on the one hand for the newly created Oberliga Nordrhein and on the other hand took part in the German amateur championship . After a round of 16 victory over VfB Oldenburg , the team failed in the quarter-finals at SV Sandhausen .

After relegation to the Association League in 1982, the SV Baesweiler changed in the following seasons in the annual rhythm between the leagues. After another descent in 1987, the club crashed two years later in the fifth division. After rising again in 1991, the club returned to the league in 1995 after a relegation game against the amateurs from Bayer 05 Uerdingen . In the summer of 1999, the club filed for bankruptcy after financial difficulties and subsequently disbanded.

With the youth club 09 Baesweiler a successor club was founded in order to keep the successful youth department alive. The JSV 09 started its new beginning in the district league A. With a completely newly formed team, in which some youth coaches from the old club played, they became champions there straight away. However, the JSV 09 failed just in the relegation to the district league. The ascent was accomplished in 2006 and led to the ascent to the Landesliga Mittelrhein 2009, from which, however, one was immediately relegated. 2013 followed the renewed relegation to the district league.

The 1st team of JSV 09 is currently playing in the district league B. The 2nd team is playing its championship games in the district league D.
