For the professional team of Alemannia Aachen he played two games in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2001 before moving to FC St. Pauli in 2003. During the winter break of 2012 he left FC St. Pauli, turned down an offer to play for a better salary in the fourth division at RasenBallsport Leipzig and switched to league rivals FC Ingolstadt 04 . From 2012 to 2015 he played 50 second division games for the club; In the 2014/15 season he was only used in the last game after an injury and rose with the team to the Bundesliga.

He made his debut on August 21, 2002 in the 1: 3 defeat against the Swiss team in the “international round” when he came on for Martin Stoll in the second half .
