Nikolče Noveski ( Macedonian Николче Новески; born April 28, 1979 in Bitola ) is a former Macedonian football player . He was under contract with Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 from 2004 to 2015 .
Career
societies
Central defender Noveski, who has a strong header, moved in 1998 at the age of 19 from the Macedonian club FK Pelister Bitola to the German Bundesliga club F.C. Hansa Rostock , for whom he was only used once in the Bundesliga and otherwise in the top division team. In 2001 Noveski was signed by the regional league club FC Erzgebirge Aue , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2003 .
After the promotion of 1. FSV Mainz 05 to the Bundesliga , Rheinhessen signed the central defender. After seven match days without use, Noveski moved into the Mainz line-up due to a training injury caused by Tamás Bódog himself . After the end of the 2006/07 season, Noveski extended his expiring contract with the Mainz team - despite relegation from the Bundesliga and lucrative offers from other clubs - and thus achieved cult status with Mainz fans. He has been team captain since the 2007/08 season . His contract with Mainz 05 ran until 2015.
National team
For the Macedonian national team Noveski has played 64 international matches and scored five goals.
Others
On November 19, 2005 Noveski scored two own goals within 132 seconds of the Mainz Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt in the first six minutes of the game . Later he marked the 1: 2 connection goal for the 05er; the game ended 2-2. His statement at the end of the game: "After all, it was my first hat trick ."
Only Dieter Bast , Per Røntved , Gerd Zimmermann , Dieter Pulter and later Karim Haggui had previously made two own goals in a Bundesliga match , but they needed more time. With six own goals in the Bundesliga, Noveski and Manfred Kaltz rank first in this ranking, but have achieved this position with significantly fewer league games.
In 2005 and 2013 Noveski was named "Footballer of the Year" in Macedonia.
