SG 01 Hoechst is a German soccer club from Frankfurt am Main .
history
Foundation and early days
The club from today's Frankfurt district Höchst was founded on March 6, 1901 under the name Football Club 1901 Höchst . The first game they lost against the 2nd team of FC Victoria Frankfurt with 0: 2. In 1920 the club merged with the sports club 1908 Höchst , the gymnastics community in 1847 Höchst and the athletes' association Höchst to form the gymnastics and sports community in 1847 Höchst , from which the TG 1847 Höchst split off again in 1924. The rest of the club was named TSG 01 Höchst that same year.
After the Second World War
The association was dissolved in 1945 and re-established as SG 01 Höchst on November 18, 1945 (the spelling SG 01 Hoechst was only introduced in 1972). In 1970, the team made it to the group league (the second highest amateur division at the time). In 1975 the team played in the DFB Cup for the first time , where they lost 3-2 to ASV Idar-Oberstein .
Oberliga
In 1977 SG Hoechst rose to the Oberliga Hessen and, after being relegated in the meantime, managed to rise again in 1987 and 1993. In 1998, the team won by a 4: 1 victory against SC Neukirchen the Hesse Cup and took for the second time at the DFB cup part (1: 2 against energy Cottbus ). In 1999 the SG Hoechst took part in the relegation round to the regional league as runner-up in the league , but missed promotion. The team was still able to keep up with the league and was at times one of the strongest teams in the league; in the 2001/02 season they took 3rd place.
Crash and a fresh start
After the sporting successful 2001/02 season, the SG Hoechst withdrew their team from the league for financial reasons. In 2003, the association finally had to file for bankruptcy. This led to the fact that the 1st team was relegated to the ninth-class district league A Main-Taunus . In 2010 the team made it to the regional league (8th league), in 2011 they made it to the next higher division, the group league. In the 2013/14 season, SG Hoechst had no chance in the group league and was relegated from bottom of the table; In 2016 the rise was successful.
The team has been coached by Michael Fischer since 2008, but the separation followed in winter 2011. From January 2012 to June 2013, the group league team was trained by the coaching duo Christian Neubauer and Musa Haslak. Both were long-time players at SG Hoechst. Wolfgang Pfister was announced as coach for the new season. This resigned on September 10, 2013 due to failure. The team is currently coached by Mostafa Ichaoui.
