Dietmar Rompel

Dietmar "Atze" Rompel (born February 2, 1962 in Limburg ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .

Career as a player

As a teenager, Dietmar Rompel moved from his Limburg home club to Frankfurt and went through all of Eintracht Frankfurt 's youth teams up to the A-youth , whose football boarding school he graduated from. From 1982 to 1986 Rompel was then active at FSV Frankfurt . From 1985 to 1987 he played for Viktoria Aschaffenburg and 1987/88 for Kickers Offenbach - both in the 2nd Bundesliga . In 1988/89 Dietmar Rompel was a contract amateur at Eintracht Frankfurt. There he was also used in the Bundesliga team of Eintracht, but could not prevail there. In the following years Rompel played at KSV Hessen Kassel , SG Hoechst , SV Darmstadt 98 , Rot-Weiss Frankfurt and Rot-Weiss Walldorf , where he ended his active career. In total, he made three Bundesliga games and two appearances in the European Cup Winners' Cup as well as 93 games in the 2nd division.

Career as a coach

After his active career, Dietmar Rompel worked as a trainer for the amateurs of Frankfurt Eintracht, at VfB Unterliederbach and until the end of 2009 at KSV Klein-Karben . In January 2010 he was coach of the second team of SV Wehen Wiesbaden , where he was dismissed after the end of the season because of the disappointing performance of the team. Rompel runs a football school.
