Viktoria Sindlingen (officially: 1. Football Club Viktoria 1910 eV Sindlingen ) is a sports club from Frankfurt am Main . The first soccer team played 13 years in the then third-class Oberliga Hessen and took part in the DFB Cup twice.

history

The club was founded on October 5, 1910 as FC Viktoria Sindlingen . Between 1942 and 1945 Viktoria formed a war syndicate with FC Amicitia Hattersheim . In 1945 Viktoria was dissolved and re-established as SG 1945 Sindlingen . Five years later the club merged with TV Sindlingen, founded in 1875, to form TSG Viktoria 1875/1945 Sindlingen . The merger was dissolved in 1962 and the Viktoria took on the current name.

In 1974 Viktoria rose to the then fourth-class Landesliga Hessen-Mitte and two years later they made it into the amateur league Hessen under player-coach Walter Reuter . Relegation was only just missed. The playoff in neutral Marburg was lost 3-0 against Olympia Kassel . This was followed by the direct return to the league from 1978 called the highest Hessian league. After a tenth place in the promotion season, 1980 was again relegated to the national league. This time, too, the direct rise was achieved after a 2-0 playoff against RSV Würges in neutral Wiesbaden , under the direction of trainer Heinz Wulf.

It began the most successful period of the club, which was fifth in the 1981/82 season . Three years later the Viktoria reached sixth place, before the successful trainer Heinz Wulf left the Sindlinger in January 1986. The team then slipped back into mediocrity and managed to stay in the league in 1989 with a 4-2 win in the decider against FC Erbach . Jürgen Klopp scored the decisive 3-2. Two years later , the Viktoria finally descended from the state league, where in 1993 the league was only possible through the voluntary withdrawal of SSV Dillenburg .

Two years later, Viktoria failed as the runner-up in the Landesliga Hessen-Mitte in the Oberliga relegation at SC Willingen . In 1996 the team was relegated from the state league and slipped further down in the following years. Since being relegated in 2012, Viktoria has been playing in the district league A. Viktoria took part in the DFB Cup twice. When they first played in the 1978/79 season , the team failed in the first round 3-0 at Bayer 04 Leverkusen . A year later they were also defeated in the first round with 0: 1 at Altona 93 .
