Michael Kimmel (soccer player)
Michael Kimmel (born January 8, 1966 in Neuwied ) is a former soccer player .
After four years of professional football in Germany, Michael Kimmel came to the then second division União Leiria in 1992 after a family vacation (Kimmel's wife is Portuguese) . He asked if he could train without obligation and was immediately committed. At that time, Michael Kimmel was already a Portuguese citizen.
He was instrumental in the promotion of União Leiria to the first division in 1994 . Michael Kimmel entered the coaching business in 2001 after finishing his active career and is currently a youth coach in Leiria.
